Symbol of constancy and loyalty

Description:

Alpine forget-me-not

Forget-me-not hybrid

Each nation endows this or that flower with its innermost meaning, not to mention the name. For example, the Poles call pansies "bros", the French call the "brooding flower", and the Germans call them "stepmother." But forget-me-not is called the same for all peoples, and everywhere it is a symbol of constancy and fidelity. And these qualities were highly valued at all times.

One German legend says that the forget-me-not grew out of the girl's tears, shed by her at parting with her beloved. The lovers gave themselves their word, wherever they met a forget-me-not flower, to pluck it and keep it as a memory of mutual love. Many years passed and in the same forest where the young lovers once parted, a man with a gray beard and an old woman met. Without saying a word, they bent down to the forget-me-not flower to pick it, their hands involuntarily touched, and they recognized each other with tears of joy.

This is how a beautiful tradition was born: when two loving hearts part, they give each other a forget-me-not goodbye - a symbol of memory and tender love.
