Everyone knows how good it is to breathe in a pine forest. This is due to the fact that pine needles release an abundant amount of phytoncides, which have an antibacterial effect, so that the air becomes life-giving. That is why sanatoriums for pulmonary and other patients are placed in a pine forest.
But not only the life-giving air of the pine forest has medicinal value. After all, it is not for nothing that the pine takes pride of place in the green pharmacy. The main medicine is pine buds, collected in early spring before they open, when they begin to swell or just start to grow.
The collected pine buds are dried in attics or under canopies with good ventilation. They should not be dried in iron-roofed attics or in dryers, as the resin of the kidneys melts. In good weather, the buds dry out under a canopy in 10-15 days.
Pine buds have the richest chemical composition. They contain essential oils, resins, bitter tannins, starch, vitamin C, phytoncides, etc. They are widely used as a choleretic and diuretic, expectorant and disinfectant, for inhalation with respiratory tract catarrh, rheumatism, gout, etc.
Pine needles are also widely used for medicinal purposes. It contains a lot of vitamin C, carotene, tannins, essential oils, resin, alkaloids, etc. Most of all vitamin C is contained in the needles of young branches in winter and early spring. This is especially important when fresh vegetables and fruits are not available. At the same time, it is important to know that in branches with needles (spruce branches), which are stored in the snow in winter, the content of vitamin C does not decrease within 3 months.
Infusions of pine buds are used for chronic bronchitis, inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, whooping cough, pleurisy, as well as for sciatica, arthritis, bladder inflammation, colic in the kidneys and bladder.
Infusion of pine needles used as a high-vitamin remedy, in the treatment of skin diseases, burns, ulcers, to strengthen teeth and as a general tonic for infectious diseases and wounds. All preparations from pine buds and needles can be easily prepared at home.
It is widely used as an expectorant and disinfectant for diseases of the upper respiratory tract. decoction of pine buds... To prepare it, you need 1 tbsp. pour a spoonful of chopped kidneys with 1 glass of boiling water, heat in a water bath with the lid closed for 30 minutes, cool, drain. Take 0.3 cups 3 times a day.
Have a strong expectorant effect decoction of pine buds in milk... To prepare it, you need 1.5 tbsp. Spoons of crushed kidneys pour 2 cups of boiling milk, simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, drain. Take hot 1 glass 3-4 times a day. For children, the dose should be reduced by 2–2.5 times, depending on age.
For lung diseases with poor sputum production, many herbalists recommend collection, consisting of 2 hours of pine buds, 3 hours of caraway grass, 2 parts of tricolor violet grass, 1 hour of marsh dryweed herb, 1 hour of plantain leaves. To prepare the broth, you need 2 tbsp. pour spoons of the collection with 1 glass of boiling water, heat in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, drain. Take 0.3 cups 3 times daily before meals.
In chronic bronchitis and for smoking cessation, a collection consisting of 2 hours of pine buds, 3 hours of marshmallow root, 2 hours of licorice root, 2 hours of anise fruit, 2 hours of sage leaves is used. To prepare the infusion, you need 1 tbsp. a spoonful of dry chopped collection, pour 1 glass of boiling water, insist in a thermos for 4 hours. Take 0.3 cups 3 times a day.
In acute laryngitis, a collection consisting of equal shares of pine buds and chamomile flowers is effective. To prepare the infusion, you need 1 tbsp. pour a spoonful of the crushed mixture with 1 glass of boiling water, insist in a warm place for 1 hour, strain. Take an infusion for gargling or for inhalation.
In case of respiratory diseases, a collection is widely used, consisting of equal shares of pine buds, plantain leaves, tricolor violet grass, nettle leaves and oregano herb. To prepare the infusion, you need 1 tbsp. pour a spoonful of collection with 1 glass of boiling water, insist in a warm place for 1 hour, strain. Take 0.3 cups 3 times a day.
With a constant urge to cough in folk medicine, infusion of pine buds is widely used (see above). It should be taken in these cases, 1-2 sips, because it quickly relieves these sensations.
With a strong lingering cough, many herbalists use a mixture of pine resin (sap) with sugar in equal proportions. The mixture is made into pea-sized balls and dried. When coughing, suck them 1 piece 3 times a day after meals.
With a strong cough and acute bronchitis, a collection is often used, consisting of 4 hours of pine buds, 2 hours of fennel leaves, 3 hours of plantain leaves, 3 hours of coltsfoot leaves. To prepare the infusion, you need 1 tbsp. pour a spoonful of the mixture with 1 cup boiling water, insist in a warm place for 1 hour, strain. Take 0.25 glasses 4 times a day after meals.
