How to treat a radish

Black radish

Radish has long been used in folk medicine. And this is understandable.

Spicy radish contains traces of carotene, B vitamins, vitamin C, phytoncidal substances that kill bacteria, and a medicinal essential oil with raffinol, many minerals: calcium, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and iron salts. Radish stimulates appetite, stimulates the production of gastric juice, improves digestion.

If there are no contraindications, it is worth taking advantage of the medicinal properties of this plant. Radish juice is used as a choleretic agent, taking 50 ml 3 times a day before meals. Used as a means of strengthening blood vessels. Prepare it like this: rub the radish on a fine grater, mix with honey and insist in the cold for 24 hours. The next day, the juice is drained and drunk a teaspoon 3 times a day.

Radish in combination with honey prevents the formation of stones in the bile ducts and kidneys, and also prevents the development of atherosclerosis, liver disease and dropsy. To prepare such a remedy, grate the radish, squeeze the juice, mix it in half with honey. Take 1/3 - 1/2 cup and bring to a glass a day, gradually increasing the dose.

Grated radish is used in the treatment of sciatica, applying it to the sore spot like mustard plasters. In the same form, the radish helps to heal wounds and ulcers.

In rheumatism, the root crop of black radish is used to prepare another drug. One and a half glasses of radish juice is mixed with a glass of pure honey, 0.5 glasses of vodka and a tablespoon of salt. It is necessary to rub in sore spots, preferably after a bath, before bedtime. Take inside a small glass of this mixture.

Radish fruits stimulate appetite and improve digestion, therefore, it can be used raw as an additive to difficult to digest dishes. They use coarsely chopped and slightly salted radish, you can season it with lemon or vegetable oil. It is served with aged cheeses and beer. Radish can be stewed in oil and served as a side dish, can be added to pates and salads. In small quantities, radish is added to mixed salads with vinegar. Young radish leaves are also used for salads, especially varieties with weak pubescence.

Daikon, or Japanese radish

Japanese radish - daikon - also contains potassium and calcium salts, fiber, vitamin C, removes excess water from the body, improves digestion, inhibits the growth of bacteria. Of all the vegetable plants, only radish, daikon and horseradish are able to cleanse the liver and kidneys, including dissolving stones. However, radish and horseradish contain a lot of essential oils that give them pungency and bitterness and act on the cardiovascular system. And daikon does not have a sharp side effect on the body, since it practically does not contain these oils.
