Here are some tips on how to extend the life of your New Year's composition:
1. Pre-brought coniferous branches must be kept cold or put in water with the addition of 2-3 tablespoons of glycerin.
2. The New Year's composition will last the longest if it is installed in a container with wet, clean sand. The sand must be moistened every 2-3 days with a solution of water with glycerin or gelatin, or an aspirin tablet with two tablespoons of sugar. The lower part of the stems of the branches should be covered with wet sand at least 5 centimeters.
3. If the composition is organized in a vase of water, add 2 aspirin tablets or half a teaspoon of citric acid, a spoonful of gelatin and a little crushed chalk to the water.
4. If your composition is in the shape of a New Year's wreath, then wrap the trunk at the cut point with a damp cloth or cotton wool, which must be periodically moistened in the same solutions.
5. For better moistening of the branches from below, they must be cleaned from the bark by 3-4 cm with a sharp knife.
6. Twigs can also be sprayed from time to time with water from a spray bottle.
