As a remedy, black root has a fairly strong analgesic and absorbing effect in fractures, various inflammations, arthritis, rheumatism. To use it for medicinal purposes, both fresh and dried black root leaves are scalded with boiling water, wrapped in gauze and applied to sore spots.

Blackroot is poisonous! In no case should you take its leaves, decoctions, infusions in your mouth, and after preparing it, you must thoroughly wash your hands.

A decoction of blackroot leaves and twigs is an excellent remedy for aphids and caterpillars. To prepare the infusion, it is necessary to pour 300 g of leaves with one bucket of water, bring to a boil and then insist until the broth cools down. You can add a bar of laundry soap to the broth.

The blackroot has another unusual and useful property - it can scare away and even exterminate insects and rodents. Mice and rats cannot stand its smell, which in the old days they used in villages, spraying and pouring blackroot decoction on the walls, floors and underground of barns and sheds.
