The art of making bouquets

Over its almost 80-year history, the Moscow Flower Club has united many flower growers according to their hobbies for various flower cultures: bulbous and phlox, peonies and irises, daylilies and roses. But the time has come when the florists of our club had a need to learn how to demonstrate grown flowers in all their glory, to master the art of using cut flowers for interior decoration. And in 1973, on the initiative of an amateur florist Anna Nikitichna Polyanskaya, a section for flower arrangement was created. It was amateur flower growers who became the first members of the "Arrangements" section. Soon, at the Society for the Restoration and Conservation of Nature in Moscow, floristic courses were created, which became one of the first in Moscow, where one could learn the art of making bouquets and compositions from natural materials, as well as the art of ikebana, which in translation means “help flowers to express themselves ". Graduates of the courses joined the ranks of the members of the section.

The main tasks of the section were the practical development of the basics of the art of ikebana according to the most modern Japanese school of Sogetsu and compositions of Russian forms, as well as the promotion of a new type of art of flower arrangement.

To solve these problems, the members of the section actively participated in specialized flower exhibitions of all flower sections of the florists club. In addition, annually held 3-4 exhibitions of their works in the Exhibition Hall on Kutuzovsky Prospekt on various topics and under different names: "Flowers for Women", "Dedicated to Victory Day", "Winter Fantasy", took part in all-Union flower arranging competitions in pavilion "Floriculture and gardening" at VDNKh.

Participation in the exhibitions required a constant increase in the professional training of amateur arrangers, who became one of the first professional arrangers in the country: polling stations, festive evenings in the Column Hall of the House of the Unions, in houses of culture, theaters, cinemas were decorated with flower arrangements made of fresh flowers.

To improve the artistic education of arrangers, artists, architects and artists were invited to the section. Nine members of the section were recommended to the All-Union Society "Knowledge", gave lectures and conducted practical exercises in various institutions, schools, factories. It was on the initiative of the chairman of the section, N.A. Lozova. the first All-Union and International Flower Arranging Competitions were held in Moscow.

Since 1987, ikebana has been gradually replaced by a new fashion - western floristry. The section arrangers have mastered the art of making commercial bouquets. Many members of the section from amateur arrangers turned into real professionals and went to the international level, created their own private schools of arrangement and flower studios, graduates of which joined the section and continued to actively improve their skills.

With the expansion of international contacts, high-class European floristry has entered our life with the use of a large number of flowers. Irina Nikolaevna Astakhova, an international-class florist, constantly improved the qualifications of the florists-arrangers of the section, introduced them to expositions at international exhibitions, with new accessories. In addition to studying Western schools in floristry, the members of the section mastered the art of creating floristic collages.

And today the florists of our club, constantly improving their skills, actively participate in the design of the club's exhibitions, work with wildflowers and flowers from our gardens near Moscow, helping all sections of the club to make exhibitions more beautiful and spectacular for visitors.

The main motto of the arrangers is to improve the skill of modern floristry.

To this day, the Florists of Moscow Center has a floristry school, where you can not only get the most up-to-date knowledge of modern floristry, drawing up trendy bouquets, wedding and Orthodox compositions, but also get artistic knowledge of the art of drawing up floristic collages.

Our School of Floristry has two excellent teachers Knyazheva Irina Nikolaevna and Kuznetsova Natalia Vasilievna, these are certified florists of international class, in their classes there is a creative atmosphere, both ladies are demanding, but extremely friendly.
