Flips, cobblers, fiz and juleps - exquisite coolness of a hot day

A huge number of ready-made soft drinks are on sale today: various sugary sodas, iced teas and fruit juice mixtures, mostly just bringing in a lot of calories and little benefit. But you can really pamper yourself and surprise guests on a hot day only by making some delicious refreshing drinks with your own hands. We are talking about various types of non-alcoholic soft cocktails that do not require much time and effort to prepare.

Among the non-alcoholic cocktails, which are usually served chilled or highly chilled, there are several main types.

Flips is a group of mixed drinks, which necessarily include a whole egg or egg yolk. The birthplace of flips is North America, where initially this drink was made from bitter beer, to which egg yolk and spices were added.

Flips are drunk mostly chilled, and the pieces of ice in this type of cocktails must be larger so that they melt slowly. Flips should be shaken in a shaker or mixer for no more than 1 minute so that the flip does not turn out to be watery and does not lose its original taste and aroma.

Nowadays, fresh eggs, various fruit syrups, milk, fruit juices and fruit drinks are used to prepare flips.

It is customary to serve flips in special flip glasses or champagne glasses.

Coblers - a special type of cocktails, they do not use shakers or mixers for their preparation, they are not diluted with anything and contain a lot of fresh or canned fruits. They are sometimes called "fruit salads in a glass".

As a rule, cobblers are prepared in a glass pre-filled to half or 2/3 with crushed ice, then all the necessary components are added to it, and then the contents of the glass are thoroughly mixed with a spoon and decorated with fruit.

In this type of cocktail, it is important that the fruit is evenly distributed in the glass and that the glass is filled to the top. Cobblers are served with a straw and a teaspoon.

Phys were born in England, their very name comes from the English word "fizz", meaning "effervescent." This drink should foam strongly, it always contains soda or mineral water. This type of drink is always served chilled.

Fiza is prepared in a shaker, where ice cubes and a mixture of drinks prepared according to the recipe are shaken for 2 minutes so that everything foams strongly, then the mixture is filtered through a strainer into glasses, topped up with soda or mineral water. The finished drink is served with a straw.

Juleps - refreshing cocktails, an indispensable component of which is mint. First, a mixture of sugar syrup and freshly ground mint is prepared, then the glass is filled 4/5 with finely crushed ice, and then all the other ingredients are added according to the recipe, and the julep is decorated with fresh or canned fruits. Peppermint is often present as a decoration for this cocktail.
